Winner of the closest guess is jhcsmum with a guess of 8,273 buttons.  The actual number of buttons was 9360.

Winner of the random draw is white-rose, as the random number generator came up with number 7, and white-rose's entry was corresponded to number 7.

For an extra entry based on three correct countries, you needed to guess three of either Australia, United States/America, Norway, Singapore or Canada.

It's Competition Time!

Guess how many individual buttons I have sold or given away since I began making them in June 2010, until 5pm 31st December 2012.  The closest guess will win a $25 voucher for Buttons by Benji.  Plus, there will be a random draw for all entries for another $25 voucher.

So, back to the competition.  With the magic of Excel, I have added, calculated and added again and I now have the magic figure safely tucked away, which includes all the individual buttons I have sold, plus any I have given away in competitions and promotions.  

I'll give you a wee clue - I have used over 7kg of polymer clay!

BbB is coming back

Greetings Everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know that I will be back with new styles, and lots of your old favourites, soon.  I am building up my Ready Right Now stock now, and will post an update as soon as I have a reasonable amount.

In the meantime, if you're lucky enough to live in Christchurch, Wellington or Nelson, you can pop along to a gorgeous local craft store for your Buttons by Benji fix, or some scrumptious yarny goodness, or maybe both.

Fluffy blackbird

A fluffy-looking blackbird just landed on the fence next to where I am sitting.  Happy Spring everyone, hope yours is full of fluffy blackbirds, cherry blossoms and daffodils.

To enable me to fully appreciate spring, I will be taking a break from making buttons for most of October.  Once current stock sells out there will be no more until November.

We have some incredibly talented yarn dyers tucked downunder in New Zealand and Australia.  One in particular, who injects fabulous fun into her creations, is Hannah from Red Riding Hood Yarns.

To celebrate Red Riding Hood Yarns turning two, Hannah has invited crafters and artists from around New Zealand and the world to take part in a showcase, previewing now, which officially opens on 6th September at 8.30pm (New Zealand time.)

I was thrilled to be invited, and whipped up these cute as a button Lil' Reds to join in the fun.
